Datamax Celebrates the People Behind its 2026 Best Places to Work Recognition

Little Rock, ARK (September 23, 2026) — Datamax Inc. officially celebrated its ninth year among the Best Places to Work in Arkansas during the program’s annual recognition ceremony at the Statehouse Convention Center in downtown Little Rock. While the award recognizes the organization, Datamax Arkansas President David Holzhauer says the achievement belongs to the people who continue to shape its culture every day.

“It all comes back to the Little Blue Book (of company philosophies and principles) and how we believe in working together and building a team,” Holzhauer said. “It comes down to the attitude we take toward customer service, and understanding that our customers are not only external, but internal. You can say ‘culture’ all you want, but it comes down to people to people, working with one another.”

The annual event recognizes 50 organizations from across Arkansas, with honorees representing small, medium, and large employers as well as nonprofit organizations. This year’s “Great Outdoors”-themed celebration brought approximately 1,500 attendees together to recognize the companies selected and the people behind the workplace cultures being honored.

Holzhauer and Datamax Vice President of Sales Cody Simon were called to the stage to accept the award on behalf of Datamax. The company’s ninth year earning the honor was also acknowledged during the ceremony.

Arkansas Business conducts the Best Places to Work program in partnership with Workforce Research Group, combining an evaluation of each participating organization with confidential input directly from its employees. The survey gives employees an opportunity to weigh in on their day-to-day workplace experience, including leadership, communication, benefits, professional growth, work-life balance, and overall job satisfaction.

That employee feedback is one reason Holzhauer describes the Best Places to Work process as a “thermometer” for Datamax culture. Recognition provides affirmation, but the feedback behind it also gives leadership another opportunity to listen.

“The results of that survey help us get better at learning what people do and don’t want,” Holzhauer said. “It helps us understand that we are heading in the right direction, and that we should continue to lean into the employee experience.”

For Holzhauer, however, the significance of a ninth Best Places to Work recognition ultimately comes back to the employees who took the time to participate. Speaking directly to Datamax employees, his message was one of gratitude.

“This is because of you and the gratitude I have for what you’ve brought to the table once again,” Holzhauer said. “It’s gratitude for taking the time (to complete the survey) and employing the mindset of customer service and team that makes all this possible.”
